Right now I'm building Migas

About

I'm interested in how systems work under the hood, from low-level hardware interaction to communication and scaling in distributed environments.

I've worked on projects involving microservices, infrastructure design, monitoring and fault tolerance, with a focus on reliability and performance.

I also build my own projects solo. The first one you'll find here is Migas.

What I'm building right now.

Migas

Track what you eat without the hassle.

Snap your plate and Migas tells you its calories. A daily goal made for you, no sign-up: your data stays on your phone.

Coming soon to iPhone and Android

What it does

  • Premium
    One photo, done.

AI recognises the dish and estimates calories and macros. Portion looks off? Adjust the grams.

Every estimate comes with a confidence level: high, medium or low.

  • Your goal, your way.

Based on your activity, a number you choose, or synced with Apple Health so it adapts to how much you move.

  • See how you're doing.

What's left today, your history and your weekly total deficit.

  • No sign-up.

No email, no password. Your meals stay on your phone.

Counting calories is free. Migas Premium unlocks photo analysis.

Your goal, three ways

Estimated
From your sex, age, height, weight and activity level (Mifflin-St Jeor equation), minus the deficit you choose.
maintenance − deficit
I'll set it
Type in your own number. A surplus works too, if you're looking to build muscle.
the number you choose
With Health
With Apple Health or Health Connect. It recalculates through the day and counts 75% of your activity (adjustable), because watches tend to overestimate.
basal − deficit + activity

Your data is yours

  • No sign-up. The app creates an anonymous internal ID. It never asks for your email, name or password.
  • It stays on your phone. Your meals, weight and history are stored only on the device.
  • Photos, only with your permission. They only leave your phone if you use AI analysis, and the app asks before the first one. They're processed on a server in the European Union.
  • Health, read-only. With Apple Health or Health Connect, the app only reads active calories, on the phone itself. It doesn't write anything or send that data to any server.
  • Delete everything. From Settings you can erase it all: what's on your phone and what's on the server.
